Alter Ego de Palmer: A Distinctive Voice from Château Palmer

Alter Ego de Palmer is considered a 'second label' but operates with the philosophy of being a true, separate expression of the superb Margaux terroir. It offers a more immediate, fruit-forward, and generous style compared to the age-worthy Grand Vin, yet retains the characteristic Margaux elegance and silky texture.

Tasting Notes (Sommelier Profile)

• Colour: A deep, opaque purple-ruby hue.
• Nose: Highly aromatic, with concentrated black fruit (cassis, plum) leading the way, complemented by classic Margaux floral notes of lilac and violet, and a touch of cedar and tobacco.
• Palate: Medium to full-bodied, exhibiting a rich, fleshy core of fruit. The tannins are remarkably fine-grained and soft, providing structure without aggression. The wine is balanced, fresh, and culminates in a polished, persistent finish.

Serving Suggestion

Serve between 17°C and 18°C. We suggest a short decant (30 minutes) to allow the bouquet to fully develop. This wine is excellent now but will evolve further with bottle age.

• Cellar Advice: Ready to drink, but can be cellared for over a decade.
