The Château Petit Gravet Aîné - ORGANIC stands as Saint-Émilion’s most singular and pure expression. This tiny estate, masterfully managed by Catherine Papon-Nouvel, is a genuine Right Bank anomaly, celebrated for its exceptional dominance of Cabernet Franc (often 80% or more). This unique varietal focus imparts a distinctive freshness and structural elegance to the wine.

The Organic Ethos & Terroir

Certified Organic, the Château champions a meticulous, respectful approach to viticulture. The ancient vines, averaging 70 years of age, thrive in deep clay and gravel soils, nestled amongst the region's top Premier Grand Cru Classés. The wine is matured in 100% new French oak barrels for approximately 18 months, guaranteeing complexity, depth, and serious longevity.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: A deep, intense garnet colour with dark reflections.
• Bouquet: Profoundly complex, dominated by intense notes of blackberry, black cherry, violet, and graphite, leading to nuances of fresh tobacco and mint-hallmarks of premium Cabernet Franc.
• Palate: The entry is powerful yet beautifully silken. The tannins are fine-grained and structured, providing a sense of verticality and refined elegance. The finish is lengthy, mineral-laced, and persistent, with a notable saline edge.

Pairing & Serving Suggestions

A fine wine built for the cellar, careful preparation is key. We recommend decanting for 90 minutes to 2 hours when enjoying in its youth. Serve between 16°C and 17°C.
