L'If is the highly anticipated Saint-Émilion estate from Jacques Thienpont, the celebrated owner of Pomerol's Le Pin. Situated on the prestigious limestone plateau, L'If focuses on producing a wine of purity and mineral precision. It is crafted with the same dedication to quality as its illustrious sibling, delivering an elegant Right Bank Claret that beautifully expresses the unique clay-limestone terroir.

Tasting Notes

• Colour: A deep, brilliant ruby red.
• Nose: Complex and intense, featuring rich black fruit (mulberry, plum), subtle spice, licorice, and a distinctive fresh, chalky undertone.
• Palate: A wine of great poise and elegance. The mouthfeel is fresh and precise, supported by fine, silky tannins. It offers a lovely balance of concentrated fruit and mineral freshness, leading to a long, refined, and spicy finish.

Pairing & Serving

This fine Claret is best paired with classic, rich dishes. Decanting is recommended for younger vintages. Serve at 16°C to 18°C.
