Domaine Bousquet Malbec Reserve: An Elegant Organic Red from the Andes
The Malbec Reserve from Domaine Bousquet is a sophisticated red wine, meticulously crafted from certified organic grapes grown at 1,200 meters in Tupungato, Uco Valley, Mendoza. Reflecting the Bousquet family's French roots, this wine offers a refined take on the iconic Argentine grape. It is partially aged in French oak, providing structure, complexity, and a dash of Old World finesse to the New World fruit character.
Tasting Notes (Malbec Reserve)
- Colour: A deep, intense purple, almost inky, with bright clarity.
- Nose: A complex bouquet of dark forest fruits-blackberry, damson plum-complemented by subtle, elegant notes of cedar, chocolate, and a hint of sweet spice from oak maturation.
- Palate: Full-bodied and rich, yet beautifully balanced by the natural freshness derived from the high-altitude terroir. The tannins are fine-grained and silky, providing excellent structure and a smooth, long-lasting finish. A truly elegant Malbec.
Pairing & Serving
A wine of this calibre deserves a classic pairing. Serve at 17-18°C. It benefits from a short decant to allow the aromas to fully integrate.
- Food Pairing: Superb with a traditional Sunday Roast Lamb (with rosemary and garlic), Steak and Ale Pie, or a robust Venison Casserole.
