As the Second Wine of the renowned Château de Camensac, a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Cru Classé) from the 1855 Classification, La Closerie de Camensac offers a direct line to premium Haut-Médoc terroir. This is 'Claret' at its finest value, delivering the classic structure and complexity of a classified estate but designed to be enjoyed younger. It is crafted with the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin, primarily from younger vines grown on the deep gravel soils of Saint-Laurent-Médoc.

Tasting Notes & Style

The wine is a beautifully balanced expression of its Left Bank origins, marrying the generosity of Merlot with the backbone of Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a sophisticated, yet approachable, Bordeaux blend.

• **Appearance:** A clear, bright garnet hue with vibrant violet reflections.
• **Aroma:** The nose is fresh and inviting, dominated by aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum. Subtle complexity comes from notes of fresh mint/menthol, liquorice, and a gentle seasoning of oak.
• **Palate:** Clean on the attack, the palate is ample and fruit-driven, showcasing a juicy core framed by fine, melted tannins. The finish is long, smooth, and elegantly spiced.
