Château Rocheyron, co-owned by the legendary Peter Sisseck (of Pingus fame) and Silvio Denz, is a beacon of excellence on the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau. Committed to certified organic and biodynamic practices, this 'Grand Vin' is a refined expression of the Right Bank's finest Merlot and Cabernet Franc, balancing opulent dark fruit with the refreshing, linear tension of its chalky terroir.
It is a wine built for the cellar, promising to evolve into a complex masterpiece over two decades, making it a spectacular addition to any serious collection.
Tasting Notes (Reference Vintage)
- **Colour:** Deep, vivid garnet.
- **Nose:** A powerful yet restrained bouquet of dark forest fruit-think black cherry, damson plum, and cassis-underpinned by a delicate cedar spice, a hint of smoke, and the signature freshness of limestone.
- **Palate:** Exceptionally poised. The wine is medium-full, with a wonderfully silky mouthfeel and a core of focused, fine tannins. The elegance is pronounced, with a mineral drive that ensures a long, balanced, and fresh finish.
Pairing & Serving
Best served slightly cool, around 16°C. We recommend decanting for at least an hour to allow its aromatic complexity to unfurl. This wine is a superb partner for classic British roasts and game.
- **Suggested Pairings:** Traditional Roast Beef with all the trimmings, Venison Loin with Juniper Sauce, Mature Blue Stilton or Aged Cheddar.
