Haut-Marbuzet is celebrated as the “most sensual Bordeaux wine,” a testament to the Duboscq family's distinctive style in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Unlike the traditionally austere wines of the region, this Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel features a generous blend of Merlot, giving it a supple texture and an immediate charm that belies its aging potential. It’s a wine of great finesse and intensity.

Tasting Notes & Heritage

• Colour: A deep, vibrant ruby.
• Nose: Rich aromas of ripe black fruits, enhanced by the characteristic 100% new oak aging, delivering classic notes of coffee bean, vanilla pod, and exotic spices.
• Palate: Voluptuous and round on the attack. The structure is built on ripe, velvety tannins, making it surprisingly accessible. The concentration of fruit, tar, and chocolate carries through to a wonderfully long finish.
• Heritage: Situated on fine gravel and clay soils, the estate is nestled amongst the classified growths, reflecting a quality that often exceeds its Cru Bourgeois status.

Food Match & Serving Suggestions

This is a magnificent wine for a special occasion. We recommend serving it slightly below room temperature (17-18°C) alongside classic British or French roasted meats.
